Thriving Together Wellbeing Report
“The 2024 North Central Washington Wellbeing Survey represents the first regional effort to establish a shared baseline of wellbeing across Chelan, Douglas, Grant, and Okanogan counties. Led by Thriving Together NCW in partnership with more than 25 community organizations, the survey collected responses from 2,752 residents at over 50 community events and locations. Using Gallup's internationally recognized Cantril Self-Anchoring Scale, respondents were classified as thriving, struggling, or suffering based on how they evaluate their lives today and their expected wellbeing 5 years in the future. This approach enables North Central Washington to compare local experiences with national benchmarks while tracking progress over time.
The data also reveals meaningful differences across communities and demographic groups, highlighting disparities in financial wellbeing, loneliness, age, geography, and other factors that shape quality of life. These results are not intended to define individuals or communities, but to help us better understand where investments, partnerships, and policy changes can have the greatest impact. By analyzing both quantitative and qualitative survey data through the Vital Conditions framework, it helps identify both the assets that support people in thriving and the barriers that continue to hold too many residents back. “
